- Holds bachelors in Japanese language and postgraduate degrees in Linguistics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
- Has been associated with documentation of Great Andamanese language since 2005 and has participated in compilation of Great Andamanese Dictionary for JNU and SOAS.
- Is the coordinating Editor of Bhojpuri-Hindi-English Dictionary (2009) published by Central Institute of Hindi, Agra, India.
- Areas of interest include documentation of lesser known languages of India, Anthropological Linguistics, spatial semantics and computer aided lexicography.
- Has published in the areas of language documentation, language endangerment, languages of Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Hindi Grammar & lexicography and translation.
- Is the Project In-charge of the Mega Dictionary Making Project of 48 Hindi Varieties at CIH, Agra
